Brazilian Music Friday Feature #29

This week's pick is another original choro, Sempre Que Posso (Whenever I Can) by the great Alessandro Penezzi, guitarist and composer, joined by Alexandre Ribeiro on clarinet. I got to play this tune last summer in Penezzi's choro ensemble at California Brazil Camp, and I'll be playing it with my friend Jane Lenoir at a concert at the National Flute Association Convention this August.

Penezzi's choros are so interesting and original, and I think he is one of the best sete cordas (7-string guitar) players out there now. I highly recommend the Ribeiro/Penezzi album Cordas ao Vento!

Enjoy the music, and your weekend!
