Brazilian Music Friday Feature #8

I hope that everyone had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday! I have worked in retail, and have worked my fair share of Black Fridays, so I always relish the chance to relax (and wish that everyone got that chance!)

Black Orpheus > Black Friday, right? Today's feature is Samba de Orfeu from the 1959 movie Black Orpheus, a version of Orpheus and Eurydice set during Carnaval in a favela in Rio. It has a great soundtrack from Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luiz Bonfá, all worth listening to, and an appearance by pandeiro legend Carlinhos Pandeiro de Ouro when he was young! He's interviewed about it here.
